The Beaches of Agnus vs Rene Magritte's The Lovers
Found this on dailyserving.com. This still comes from the film "The Beaches of Agnes" which took place in Agnes Varda's courtyard. I cant help and make the comparison from Rene Magritte's The Lovers, 1928. I've read that Magritte's paintings of The Lovers was a reaction to the death of his mother. He saw her been pulled out of a river with her dress wrapped around her head as she drowned to death. I don't think the same meaning holds for the above photo. It is interesting to see how similar two things may be that have absolutely nothing in common.

in fact her mother had always ben suicidal so her father kept her locked in her room until she escaped and drowned herself. Thus being the reason why the man has a cloth on his face because Rene held his father esponsible for the mothers death.
